Tiffie Times

Hello Everyone,

It's been a somewhat crazy week. On Tuesday we took Tiffie to the vet because we knew she wasn't feeling good. Her belly had swollen over the past few days and we thought it couldn't be just weight gain.

Come to find out, she had Pyomedra. As Dr. Todd explained to us, Tiffie's girly parts (we never had her spayed as we were never going to let her have puppies) were infected and full of pus. Ugh!! My poor baby!!!!! They had to do surgery and spay her, which was the only way to get rid of the infection and pus. Her uterus was suppose to be size of a mans pinkie finger, hers had gotten the size of a fist. They kept her until Thursday morning and she seemed to be doing good. Dr. Todd said they couldn't get Tiffie to eat while she was there, so they figured she would eat once she got home, which she did. Friday morning she wasn't doing great, but we gave her one of her pain pills and she did a little better. On Saturday though she didn't eat at all during the day. Unfortunately, we didn't know if Tiffie had has a BM at all since she had come home, but found out this morning!!! When Ed got up Tiffie had left about 4 BIG spots on the floor!!! Ed said he had cleaned her and the floor up (which of course he hadn't) and when Tiffie got onto the bed to wake me up, she left a LOT of, you know what on our nicely clean sheets! Well, to make a long story short, I've washed the sheets and pillowcases TWICE!!! Ed ran our carpet shampooer and I ended up having to give our little girl a bath. And the good news is that Tiffie ate a good breakfast this morning. We called Dr. Todd again and told her about our morning, but she thinks it's probalby Tiffie's first 'real' BM. She's going to call us in the morning to see how our girl is doing.

Our weather is really nice today!!!! It's in the high 70's so we've kept the doors open to get some fresh air!!
